The accomplishments of former athletes from Kenyon Wanamingo High School are recognized by the Kenyon Wanamingo Athletic Hall of Fame. The first induction ceremony took take place at KW High School on Oct. 3, 2015. Nominations of athletes and teams may be submitted by anyone to the KW Hall of Fame Committee.
The Founding Hall of Fame Committee starting meeting in November 2014 to establish the guidelines for this hall of fame. The committee was put together with the Activities Director Randy Hockinson, former coach Steve Alger, current coach Jen Nerison, former athlete Todd Greseth, and school administrator Matt Ryan. The KW Athletic Hall of Fame Policy and Nomination Form are available in the High School Office in Kenyon and the District Office in Wanamingo. Nominations can be submitted year round and need to be submitted by April 1 to be considered for the following fall. Completed Nomination Forms should be sent to the Activities Director for consideration to be in next year's class.
Nomination categories are Athlete, Coach, Administrative or AD, and Booster/Supporter. In addition to inducting athletes into the Kenyon Wanamingo Athletic Hall of Fame, teams will be selected to be honored at the Hall of Fame Banquet in October each year in alignment with Kenyon Wanamingo High School Homecoming. Athletes and teams will be eligible 10 years after their graduation year. Other categories do not have a waiting period restriction. The committee is responsible for selecting inductees and teams in a manner that recognizes contributions from all genders, sports, and the two former high schools along with the current high school.
