Welcome, parents of the 2026-27 kindergarten students, to Kenyon-Wanamingo Elementary School!

Kindergarten Roundup is just around the corner, and we are very excited to welcome our newest learners and their wonderful families to our school community. We are so glad you’re here and look forward to beginning this special journey together!

Please find the registration materials here: Enrollment Forms, which are also located on our school website www.kw.k12.mn.us under the Menu, Parents/Families, Enrollment Forms. The forms are fillable for easy use and can then be emailed to Cyndi Sturgis, PK-6th grade secretary, csturgis@kw.k12.mn.us. Please also send a copy of immunizations after the 5-year immunizations are complete.

Before this special milestone, we would love the opportunity to meet with parents to get acquainted, share information about kindergarten, and answer any questions you may have. Please join us for this very important parent meeting on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Kenyon-Wanamingo Elementary School, in Kenyon (Door 5).

Free childcare will be provided for children 33 months and older that evening. We will gather in the Castle for a brief welcome and then you will rotate through three mini sessions where you’ll have the opportunity to meet our teachers, school nurse, counselor, and principal. Each staff member will share helpful information for incoming kindergarten students and their families. A large group tour will be available at the end of the evening for those who would like to explore our school building.

We strongly encourage you to make every effort to attend this evening. If you need support or have questions regarding the enrollment process, we will have help available that evening.

In addition, your child will have the exciting opportunity to attend a Mini-Kindergarten Day on Friday, May 1, 2026. A Sign-up Genius invitation for a morning or afternoon session will be coming soon through your email. On that day, your child will meet teachers and classmates, spend time in the classrooms, enjoy a craft, have a snack, and take a short bus ride. Attending this day will help make the transition to kindergarten smooth and comfortable for students and parents/guardians.

We look forward to partnering with you. Kindergarten is such a special time, and we can’t wait to welcome your family to our school community!

Sincerely,

Carrie Anderson
